A report from the grounds team
Start with the campus question you need to answer: activity near a building, an observation from a car park, or a report around a site with a helipad. Local reception makes the hospital a contributing listening point; the map gives staff a way to inspect received information.
The estates desk receives a report of a drone near the edge of the campus. A nominated reviewer checks the map, opens the available track and compares the recorded path and time with the report.
Where the site includes a helipad, the map can also show suitable received aircraft context. Later, eligible playback supports a factual review alongside the hospital’s own records.
Questions worth answering
- Where was the received drone relative to the reported location?
- What does the recorded time window show?
- Who owns the review and passes information into the hospital’s process?

Eligible retained history lets the team review a timestamped sequence alongside its own notes.
Sign-in and history entitlement applyExplore this feature →Set an area. Choose what brings you back.
Define an area that matches the campus location under review and name it clearly. If a helipad is part of the site, agree its relevance with the responsible aviation team rather than treating a map circle as an official airspace boundary.
An available notification can prompt the designated reviewer to inspect the received activity and follow the hospital’s normal reporting process. Agree who covers that responsibility across shifts.
- Choose the place. Use the map’s area-alert entry to select your centre and radius, then name the saved area in your account.
- Choose the activity. Review the rules available to your account and enable the ones relevant to this place.
- Choose the channel. Configure an available email, browser push or webhook channel, check quiet hours and send a test.
- Open the observation. Use the event timeline’s Live or Playback link as available to inspect what triggered your attention.
Area alerts · limited rollout. Account and channel availability apply. Email, opt-in browser push and signed webhooks have separate delivery states; notification timing depends on the rule, quiet hours and delivery channel. Check your account’s options and send a test before building a routine around notifications.

An area selects relevant received activity. It does not change the receiver’s listening range or create a flight restriction.
Give the receiver a useful home.
- Work with estates and IT on a fixed receiver position, antenna installation, power and connectivity.
- Nominate an equipment owner and an operational contact for reviewing received observations.
- Include receiver health and account handover in routine checks, and walk through how a track reference is recorded.
Questions for this setting.
Does this replace a helipad safety system?
No. It provides received drone and aircraft context for awareness and review. It does not provide clearance or certified separation assurance.
Is this relevant without a helipad?
Yes. A healthcare campus may want a consistent way to review drone reports near its buildings and grounds, just as other large estates do.
