See the flight in the context of your estate.

The house, formal gardens, visitor grounds and event spaces each have a different rhythm. A local receiver helps an estate team understand reported drone activity in relation to the places it looks after.

In practice

A busy opening weekend

An estate might welcome professional filming one day and host a wedding or a quiet garden opening the next. Map observations are most useful when the people reviewing them also know the estate’s schedule, visitor areas and current work.

An example in your setting

A grounds team reports a drone near the gardens during a visitor weekend. The duty manager checks its received trail against the house, gardens and nearby land, then compares the time with any planned photography.

Later, playback lets the team review the available record alongside the event log. Over time, observed activity patterns can help the estate choose where local reception and staff attention are most useful.

Questions worth answering

  • Which part of the estate is close to the observed activity?
  • Does the timing match filming or work arranged by the estate?
  • Where should the team focus its reception and review routine?

Your place, your focus

Set an area. Choose what brings you back.

Choose the area you actually want the duty team to review, such as the house and gardens. A distant event field may deserve a separate named area where your account supports it, instead of one very broad circle.

Available notifications give the duty team a reason to open the map during an event or public opening. Review them alongside the estate diary so expected filming and unexpected observations have their proper context.

  1. Choose the place. Use the map’s area-alert entry to select your centre and radius, then name the saved area in your account.
  2. Choose the activity. Review the rules available to your account and enable the ones relevant to this place.
  3. Choose the channel. Configure an available email, browser push or webhook channel, check quiet hours and send a test.
  4. Open the observation. Use the event timeline’s Live or Playback link as available to inspect what triggered your attention.

Area alerts · limited rollout. Account and channel availability apply. Email, opt-in browser push and signed webhooks have separate delivery states; notification timing depends on the rule, quiet hours and delivery channel. Check your account’s options and send a test before building a routine around notifications.

An area selects relevant received activity. It does not change the receiver’s listening range or create a flight restriction.

A practical installation

Give the receiver a useful home.

  1. Survey potential receiver positions with the property team, considering trees, building materials, available power and internet.
  2. Choose a maintainable installation suited to the property. Discuss mounting and cable routes before putting equipment on a heritage building.
  3. Create a short handover for changing duty staff: receiver health, relevant areas, planned filming and where observations are recorded.
A little more detail

Questions for this setting.

Is the whole estate one detection zone?

It can be more useful to start with the house, gardens or an event area. Choose the area around the question you want to answer and review its size during setup.

Can this help during weddings and public events?

Yes. The same received map and history can support the duty team’s awareness during an event, with notification availability and responsibilities agreed beforehand.
