Make your flying site part of the picture.

A club receiver turns a familiar flying site into a local listening point. Members can explore received tracks, compare observations with their own flying records and see how their station contributes.

Reviewing a club flying session

For clubs, the value can be as much about learning as watching. A recorded trail makes a flight easier to discuss, reported aircraft context supports awareness, and receiver statistics give members a tangible view of the contribution they are making.

An example in your setting

After a session, members open the available recorded tracks around the site and compare the trail with their own flight notes. Reception times and reported heights give the discussion a shared reference.

The receiver owner can also review the station’s contribution and reception compass. A public sky widget can give visitors to the club website a view of public observations around the area.

Questions worth answering

  • What did the receiver record during our session?
  • What reported aircraft context is available around the site?
  • How can the club explain its contribution to members and visitors?

Your place, your focus

Set an area. Choose what brings you back.

Use a named area around the club site for the observations you want to review. A browser-saved watch volume is also useful for local analysis; account area notifications are a separate feature.

Where account area alerts are enabled, choose notifications relevant to the club’s review routine and test them on the designated device. Keep flying decisions with the pilot and the club’s normal procedures.

  1. Choose the place. Use the map’s area-alert entry to select your centre and radius, then name the saved area in your account.
  2. Choose the activity. Review the rules available to your account and enable the ones relevant to this place.
  3. Choose the channel. Configure an available email, browser push or webhook channel, check quiet hours and send a test.
  4. Open the observation. Use the event timeline’s Live or Playback link as available to inspect what triggered your attention.

Area alerts · limited rollout. Account and channel availability apply. Email, opt-in browser push and signed webhooks have separate delivery states; notification timing depends on the rule, quiet hours and delivery channel. Check your account’s options and send a test before building a routine around notifications.

An area selects relevant received activity. It does not change the receiver’s listening range or create a flight restriction.

A practical installation

Give the receiver a useful home.

  1. Choose a fixed receiver location with the club’s agreement, reliable power and an internet connection.
  2. Link it to an account with an identified owner who can maintain the installation and check reporting health.
  3. Use a club session to explore the received record, then decide whether history review, a local watch volume or a public website widget best serves members.
A little more detail

Questions for this setting.

Is a watch volume the same as an alert area?

No. Local watch volumes are saved in the browser for analysis. Account area alerts have their own saved rules, channel settings and availability.

Can the club display the map on its website?

Yes. Share My Sky provides an embeddable public view. Create the embed from Airspace insights and choose its location, height band, title and theme.
